Bruce Adams surprises an onlooker at the Precious Penny Pluckers event at BMAG
The second day and first weekend of this years Jazz & Blues Festival was by no means a drop in quality from the Friday’s offerings. Bruce Adams decided to become a member of the Jazzband Velke Losiny as well as the Precious Penny Pluckers, while even the afternoon thunderstorm could not dampen the spirits of Bournville Village Green‘s ‘Jazz on the Green’ Festival which was instead moved to the fine church handily close by. This meant that The Chase Jazzmen and the New Orleans Hotshots still provided an eclectic mix of jazz and blues for the hardy souls that braved the weather!
Another fine day of music was rounded off in excellent fashion by the beloved Lady Sings The Blues at StarCity, with Val Wiseman providing an excellent tribute to the music of Billie Holiday. As the day drew to a close, there were rumours that the New Orleans Jump Band were still playing away into the night in Berkleys Lounge…
