Ex RAF. Ex photographer. Former professional trumpet player, manager of Locomotive [Rudy's In Love] and Black Sabbath [through first two hit albums and 'Paranoid' single]. Set up Big Bear Records in 1968.


Jazz, Swing, Cajun, Ska and Rock Steady, quality rock and country that rocks. Football [ a lifelong supporter of Halesowen Town FC]. Speedway, reading 19th and 20th century history especially with regard to Spain, Central Europe and Russia as well as certain novelists – Runyon, Steinbeck, Klima, Kunderer especially, the cinema, absolutely anything to do with Spain.


Poor music, badly played. Television programming that by omission deprives ordinary folk of the opportunity to discover good music.
