black sabbathThis early press photograph of the four members of Black Sabbath on a grass verge outside my house is currently on display at Wednesbury Museum and Art Gallery.

The picture is from my personal collection of negatives, many of which have been unseen for 40 years.

Jim Simpson

Jim started as a Jazz trumpet player and had a top 20 hit with "Locomotive" in 1968. He then went on to discover Black Sabbath and managed them through their most creative period having hit singles "Paranoid" and the hit albums "Paranoid" and "Black Sabbath". Jim then went onto manage several other Midlands bands including Muscles, and The Quads. Over the decades, Jim has produced many American Bluesmen including Lightnin' Slim, Homesick James, Tommy Tucker, Eddie Guitar Burns Big John Wrencher and many more. Jim is a high accomplished musician and now passes on his wisdom to the students here at Major Key Studios. Through Big Bear Records (Jims record label), Jim manages Jazz Blues band Tipitina who have performed live at The Pink Tank on numerous occasions.
